The Villages Children and Families Engaging (CAFÉ) Program

Villages CAFE' is a family focused community-based program for Hillsborough County families with children age 9 - middle school.
Program Features:
Fun Facilitated Workshops with topics such as:

  • Developing a Positive Response;

  • Personal Power and Responsibility;

  • Healthy Self-esteem, and Much More!

Various Family Engagement Activities

  • Fun learning games

  • Meals and snacks served at workshops

Dedicated Resource Advocate for each participating family

  • Assist family with obtaining resources

  • Advocate for family with community agencies

It is often noted that early intervention is likely to show more benefit than later intervention, and there is substantial evidence that appropriate family-focused prevention can reduce child aggression, school dropout and drug and other substance abuse in adolescence.

  1. You are the parent or caregiver of a child age 9 – middle school;

  2. You reside in Hillsborough County; and

  3. You are interested in your child(ren) becoming engaged in a program that empowers them and the entire family.

Our Villages CAFE program is designed to help :

“It takes a Village to Raise a Child”

The Resource Empowerment Center (REC), Inc is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses
on empowerment of our communities by connecting people with resources, providing one-on-
one support, fostering advocacy and education to help transform lives of those in need.

 

What sets us apart and allows our families to achieve success is:

  • High touch services delivered by our Resource Advocate Volunteers and Youth Advocate Volunteers,

  • Holistic approach to client services, and

  • Collaboration with community partners providing the most impactful wraparound services.
